Hey, everyone! Forest here.

This is a place where, obviously, you can suggest ideas for the wiki. Stories, features, activities, whatever. It's all you.

Just create a heading on the discussion page with the name of your idea, and underneath, put:

  • A description. What exactly will we do?
  • How will it benefit the wiki? "IDK" is not an acceptable answer.
  • How active will users get into it? (Like, voting, a simple poll, a one-time thing)
  • How long will it last?
  • How often will it occur?
  • Whose idea IS it?

Here, we'll vote on it. If it passes, all of the admins have to support it, and it has to have more support votes than against votes.

Clover, some users here aren't on warriors Character Wiki. And fanart and character art aren't nessicarily the same. Like fanart could be from a scene in a story, or an idea, or a comic or something. Edit Day

So we on WFW pick one day for everyone to write, fix, draw, code, whatever as much as they can. First, WFWers register, and give their current edit count. At the end of the day (24 hours, hopefully, because we have people from all over the world here), the people who edited the most wins a prize. Maybe some generous artist could do some art? If Edit Day is a hit, would could have one every year, or even every 6 months!

This would benefit the wiki by getting everyone to do something. Story Discussions would probably get a lot more people commenting. Spelling and grammar would be a lot better. Maybe even a few of those old, unused articles would start working again!

Project Charecter Art

Writing Tips

I was just reading Evening's new thing about how to make your charries better, and I got this idea. I know there are quite a few people on here who have how t name your charries and how to make a good charrie and how to write a good story, I was thinking, what if we put all those together somewhere? For all you Warriors Wiki people: like the tutorial section of the PCA. This could be a place where new users and old users can look at what others have written and their tips and stuff. We could put it on the green/blue menu bar on the left side of your screen so it's easy to get too. This might help improve our stories some and it'd nice to have, just for reference. Pick-Up Wall

The Pick-Up Wall is basically a variation of the old Burn Wall. The only difference is that you cannot put bad or 'meh' comments on. No constructive critisism either (save that for talk pages!). This will benefit the wiki because everyone needs a pick-up sometimes. If you think no one likes your stories or if you feel like you have no friends, just look here! It might help people feel more like they belong and cut down on the 'no one comments on my stories/talk page.blogs'. It will be a forum and anyone can access it and put their name up. I know I'll definately be patrolling to make sure there aren't any bad things put up, so users don't need to worry about vandalism. Because it's a forum on the wiki, its open 24/7 to everyone. You can edit it whenever. Userboxes

This was proposed by WarriorcatZ1234, yet it is old, and long forgotten. This would help the wiki, as userboxes would create great intrest and collabration. We could have a Project Userboxes, or we could just have a meeting place where we propose new userboxes and go from there. Wiki Paper

Alright, so I was on this other wiki and I noticed they had a wiki newspaper. They had all kinds of cool stuff and the whole time I was reading I was thinking 'I bet if we made one it'd be better'. So, then I thought, why not make one?

The first time we made it, Foresty and I would probably be the only people to work on it, but as the project improves we could add more and more articles and people. Things in it would include New Users, Users Birthdays, Featured Stories, a few Polls, Warriors info and stuff, random Cat facts....all kinds of goodies. It would be monthly. It will benefit the wiki by informing people of our accomplishments that particular month and it will draw in new users.

I was thinking we could call it 'The Gathering' and have 'Things are moving in the Forest...' be out motto. But if this gets approved we can have a vote. So what do ya think? --I've already lost everythingI can loose one thing more 00:33, November 26, 2011 (UTC)

Awards

IDEA! Okay, so y'know how people are always complaining about not being recognized and stuff? I have an idea about how to help that. And it'll be fun. Huzzah! Okay, so you know how there are grammys and stuff? Well I was thinking each user could have their own awards- examples- The Arti's, The Wetty's, The Birchy's, The Birdy's, ect. It would be optional and there would be guidelines to make sure only qualified users who've been on a while and know the ropes would be handing them out. And then each user could have a 'trophy case' in their user page 'displaying' all their trophies.

People who give trophies can decide criteria and make their own trophey to give. For example, say I made a trophey thing called the 'Hunter's', specificating on grammar excellence, and it could look like an Oscar with a cat head on it. You get the ideas. If this gets enough aprroval, I'll start setting up guidelines and stuff.

Mentoring Program

Every time we get a new user, they are a valuable addition to the wiki. However, they might not know coding, but they can write awesome stories, or vice versa. I was thinking that users could either be on their own or be paired with a senior user to teach them stuff. Users will be more experienced and make more friends. WFW Awards Night

This sounds like most other ideas, but here is what we should do to make our wiki sound really awesome. :3 So at the end of huge year, once in December, there will be a time in the wiki when we'll pack up for the next year! The event goes on for one week in December, optional date (it has to start on a Monday). On Monday it'll be a preparing day, so much doesn't have to be done. On Tuesday editing will begin. Edit every single story you have so all the stories are nice and fresh for next year articles which new users will be reading. On Wednesday creating new articles will start. Only a minimum of 12 (or any other number below 20) Will be created. The first 12 new articles may stay as long as they're edited (so we have newer stories for the next year) and then new articles created after the first twelve will be deleted and the user who created them will be warned. On Thursday the admins will get a day off for planning the awards night while other users can edit more. Thursday will also be the last day to vote winners. On Friday an admin will make a blog saying all the awards! On Monday (or Sunday) polls will be made so every user has a chance to vote for the awards. The awards can be like, "Most Emotional Fanfic Of the year", or "Strangest Fanfic name of the year". Here I hope! Coding Class [APPROVED]

So, since WFW is opened to coding I think maybe we should have a coding class. Users can sign up to be mentors, and users that want to learn can request, and the admins could pick a mentor for them (cause if apprentices get to choose that would be like favoriting and mentors could feel left out).

A few topics to cover would be:

  • Span style
  • Div
  • P style

Pretty much fonts, backgrounds, and gradients.

Once a mentor thinks their apprentice has learned all they need to, they can tell an admin, and the apprentice is now a full coder and is out of the Coding Class System, unless they want to be a mentor.

So what do you think? Should we do this?

Wiki facebook page

So I was think various wikis have Facebook pages and stuff and I thouhght why not this wiki?

We could atract more contributors with a facebook page.

We could advertise forgotten stories we could upload on this page the monthly featured stories,7 random stories form the random page link,featured users,promote pages that are up for adoption and notify about events in the wiki.

I don't know if the wiki already has a facebook page but it was just an interesting thought.
