Warriors Fanfiction is pretty hard to write if you think about it. How do you make it different than the usual? It's mainly just a cat joins the Clan, problems occur, and resolution (main character becomes main character, main character cherished as a hero, etc). This is a huge problem I have to overcome.
After years of writing fanfiction for the same thing you tend to come to a realization. It just feels the same. You struggle trying to make something different, just to fall back into the same-old-same-old.
Then you just finally overcome that obstacle. You finally make an awesome fanfiction that you think everyone will love and adore, because it's different. It's finally different from everything you've done and what others have done. But you're wrong, dead wrong. Nobody reads it, nobody comments, nobody takes into consideration of this new story.
This is what bothers me. I find gems like these on this site all the time, yet there are little to no comments or reviews on these stories. The only comments I find are the basic "Write more!" and "Wow so good!". Then I see other stories, which don't get me wrong, they're good, but just since the person is popular it has dozens of comments and reviews and it bothers me so much.
Then the diamonds in the rough are still covered by the rough. It's as if people fear the extravagent, long paragraphs of detail and explanation and go for the simple sentenced stories instead. Like yes, you can read the same stories over and over, but how about a little bit of variety?
I've made this problem clear before, but it never seems to change. People basically read popular user's stories. Don't tell me I'm making a bigger deal out of this than it needs to be, because this isn't right. And don't dare tell me that this isn't a real problem, because it is.
Even if the plot's a bit rocky or cliché, people don't mention it. They don't want to disappoint the author, they don't dare say what's wrong about the story. They praise the story like the great goddess of fanfiction made it. That's also another big problem. Stories can be bad, they can be able to not meet your expectations, and you are allowed to say that. You are allowed to give constructive critism, but you fear to hurt their feelings. But the point is, if you made a story that some people are trying to give you some tips to fix it, you should take those tips into consideration. People should learn that fanfictions aren't going to be perfect all the time.
There are so many fantastic authors on here with so many stories that are just beautiful, and yet they're ignored. Those stories are overflowed with the ones that are so broadly broadcasted.
I'm bothered because you guys are still doing the terrible comments that I've made like 1,000 blogs about, and now you're just reading the same stories because your friends made them. There's going to be people that are like: "oh I read everyone's stories though so this doesn't apply to me". No that's a lie. I'll even say that I've been guilty of just reading my friend's stories at times.
Please, just try for once. Just try to fulfil the right types of comments, try to read other stories and leave good reviews. Try to bridge out from the same things we've always done. Please.
