So there was these vandals, many of you probably saw him. I banned one this morning thanks to Forest telling me about it. Forest saved the wiki there. <3
Tonight I came back on to realize everyone had been fighting a new vandal. I banned them and when they continued to edit, Zaffie re-banned them. Wait you say, Zaffie can ban crap now?
Tonight, I was pleasantly surprised by how freaking pissed people on here get when anons mess with our stories. Thanks to the courageous and amazing efforts of Zaffie, Wetstream, Red, Honeyrose, Rain, Nighty, and myself were able to defeat the anons. While they reverted edits I was on my butt watching TV, not knowing what the heck was going on. This victory goes to them- I just had the rights to finally ban the little git.
I contacted the VSTF and they told me that both anons were under a proxy which means their IPs were cloaked and, had they wanted, they might have been able to keep coming back from the dead. They took care of it and also placed the wiki under semi-protection for 168 hours- I'm not sure what that means, but let's assume we'll all be vandal free for a while. xD
But this was also a wake-up call for me.
I procrastinated naming a new admin. Had I done it sooner, they might have been able to ban the anon before this all happened. But I didn't and I'm sorry for that.
But I can tell you as of right now, Zaffie and Birchy have received their admin rights. Congrats guys- sorry it took so long.
But wait, there's more!
We need another rolly. We haven't had a double attack since when I was starting out here and vandals came almost daily. So we need more protection. And I have named Wetty as our new rollback. Good job Wets.
To all of you listed up there, Forest, Zaf, Wets, Red, Nighty, WAFFA, Honey, and Rainy...I could not be more proud of you. You guys pretty much saved the wiki and you've all earned your places here (although most of you already have) and you're all senior warriors. If I could give you all rights...I probably wouldn't. xD But you guys did good. Like Dumbledore's Army. But viral. And without magic...LOL
