Hey! My second attempt at this! Let's see how it goes (and hope I don't abandon it! :P)
February 10th- Thursday
Hi. I'm restarting these. Good way to get out my feelings, I guess.
Looking over my old entries I realized that I was being too negative. So I'm gonna try to be more positive. Even though I just started having the horrible, evil teacher MRs. G for Career Skills. Everyone hates her-
Moving on. I'm just gonna talk about my school. Earlier this week, I was walking to class in the crowded hallway, and saw 2 popular kids (Kyle and Nikki) kissing. Nothing private, right in front of everybody. And of course, their friends start talking. When I walked into class I heard some whistling. Real mature. But anyway, I don't know why it's news. Tons of 6th graders on my bus talking about who they like, so why is it major that two 7th graders kissed? But apparently, it was right in front of a security camera, and I've heard the school called their parents and both of them are in huge trouble! Misty, have you heard any of this? But I'm just so confused. Why do we all think that "Hey, we're in Middle School, so let's like someone." Even in 5th grade, some popular kids dated. Not very romantic on the playground, is it? o.0
I think it's because we're all on facebook, texting, and all that. But seriously, why is it big. I've heard it from different people today. So weird. Apparently, dating is cool in middle school, but kissing? Big news.
I think that comes under scary!!! Wait, how old is seventh grade in America? Leppy, you're in sixth grade, right? So I think that means seventh grade translates to Year 8, which is my year... UGH GROSS THESE PEOPLE ARE INSANE. Clearly television is a BAAAAD influence to young and impressionable minds. (I don't count) Oh, I won the game. Laters! February 11th- Friday
Hey, I know it's the 12th, but let's talk about yesterday.
At school was okayish. I got 2 french tests back, a B- and 100%. Also got a 100% on a science test, so that's cool.
We also had an Academic Triathlon meet. It's a really fun intellectual weird awesome club thing run by my old science teacher. Other local schools came to our school this time. We have the reputation for the best snacks, including pizza :D. But there were 2 teams of 5/6, and Shiney and I were on the same team. NOT GOOD! We fought the whole time. But during the skit in the end, I was the Narrator/Fruit Fairy/Real Estate Agent. Call me if you want a condo!
Yeah, we didn't win. The other team from my town tied with another school's team. But the other school got the new ribbon because they were the away team. But, the 2nd place ribbon they got was blue, so they won the blue ribbon! :D
February 16th- Wednesday
French............ is there a way to be nice in mentioning how I feel about it? No? Zut!!!!
It doesn't make sense. And why don't I get it? I'm not trying to brag, but I'm pretty smart, and I've been in some advanced classes. I just don't understand language. They say that people learn languages best when little. Other countries teach English when kids are little. We don't start until 7th grade. And we don't understand it. Surprise? Not to me. But I'm really struggling, even more than I did in advanced math last year (but everyone agreed my teacher went to fast in teaching....)
We walk in, and since my teacher is the only French teacher in the school, she teaches both 7th and 8th grade. She had the desks lined up in 2 rows so a line was created in the middle to walk down. It was a runway or something for the 8th graders. And then we reviewed with memory games and stuff. Then, the test.
Yes, it did not make sense. Why do we learn foreign language? Not to be mean, but don't other countries use English as a secondary language? Like, if you speak spanish and go to Greece, they probably won't speak spanish but probably speak Anglias. (or however you spell it :P)
I don't wanna be mean to the teacher. I'm probably just an overreacting tween who's moody and wanting to blame someone for their problems. And talking to you people. Why do we get relief from shouting our lives online, where we hardly know anyone? Weird.
Aww! French is cool! Although the only thing I can actually do is remember words. I can't say them - like when I say tatties or neeps, it sounds bizarre! Today was a Fairytale ღ 17:28, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
Well, french can be kinda annoying. But at least for you, if your school ever goes to a French-speaking country, you'll get to go to France. I'm stuck with Canada, where parts of it speak french. :( Like, the spanish students get to go to a resort in Mexico!!! I mean, the home of the taco? Jealous! --Particulary Good Finder Hufflepuff!!! 20:53, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
I've been to Paris. It was cool. I was six, I ate bread, I saw the Eiffel Tower at night (all lit up, WOOT!!!) I climbed it in the day, I bought French books which I still can't read (which is sad, because they look really interesting) and I saw a dog with rabies. That's all I remember. But I've been heaps of places in Europe, so it's just like meh. Beyond the Night Teyla Emmagan 23:51, February 26, 2011 (UTC)
Apart from Scotland, I've been to Spain. I know, I don't get around a lot - I've never even been to England! When I was little I do remember my uncle throwing my toy animals into a swimming pool in Portugal though. And I went to America and Italy in my mum's stomach! Today was a Fairytale ღ 16:14, February 27, 2011 (UTC)
February 17th- Thursday
Hey everyone! It's almost February break! Where almost everyone leaves for Florida to bask in the sun! Jealous! But anyway, it's a week of hanging out with your friends and sleeping in. Awesome!! It's totally awesome, right?
Another optimistic thing to talk about is the weather! This winter had been one of the worst winters ever around here, my parents say it's the coldest, snowiest one they remember. 7 snow days? Plus, they only gave us 2 snow days this year, so good bye spring break. :( But now it's feeling like Spring!! So much melted snow, t-shirts and no more huge coats! Outdoor recess! Fresh air! No frostbite if you even step out of the door! It's great! *knocks on wood* Sorry, don't want to jinx it!
I'm also going to start a feature called "Week in Review"' at the end of the week. The New York Times has it, but it's going to be about me and my opinions, not Egyptian protests or economic news. Hey, speaking of Egypt, isn't it cool that they got rid of their government in 18 days? I mean, the American Revolution lasted like, 6 something years? Nice, America. But then again we didn't have facebook in the 18th century. :D
February 18th- Friday
Yeah, I know it's the 20th, but I want to talk about the 18th. I'll also write one for the 19th, and my Week in Review
So, we finished school, and the teachers all realized for once that half of us are going to be vacationing in Florida or someplace, not doing math homework. So, the only real homework we got was working only English homework, making a commercial. But that's ok, it'll be fun.
After I got home, I straightened my hair and stuff, trying to keep it under control. My hair is really, really thick, which is weird because Shinestar has very thin hair. So I just have so much ginger hair, even though it's short. But I was trying to make it nice because I went to the mall with my friend Anika. She's the nice friend, that's the official position I gave her in our group of friends, like I'm the Assassin/Ginger. But those words might be interchangeable now. :P
At the mall, we went to the food court and had Subway. Mmmmm, I love Subway. One, it's pretty good for you. Two, it's a franchise, so they're everywhere, and 3; It's delicious! Really good. So, Ani and I ate with her sister and mom, then those two left to pick up Ani's sister's friend, so Ani and I were left to roam around the mall.
Where I live, there's 2 malls people go to. The JV (the one we were in) and DF malls. JV is closer, while DF is in the next state over, but still close enough to go to. People used to go to the JV for the movies there, but that just closed, so business is bad. Some food court places were empty, and so many stores were closed or going out of business. JV is also smaller. The DF mall is much, much larger, but farther away. It never had a movie theater, but it has a freaking double-decker carrousel in the food court. Yeah, it's awesome. A ton of people are saying JV is going out of business soon. I mean, it was a Friday night and hardly anyone was there!
BACK TO THE STORY (Wow, I was off topic!): So, we go look around the stores, like Aeropostal or something. We love that store. Pretty, popular and not expensive :D. So, I buy a shirt and a pretty bracelet. Then, we go off wandering, until we head to Claire's. I found a bunch of bracelets I normally wouldn't buy, since they're $14, but I happened to have a $15 gift certificate, so that was cool. Then, we debate which direction Hollister was in. We kept turning around and changing directions so many times people must have thought we were insane. Well, we are, so that's cool :). Then, we finally found it and bought a shirt each. I couldn't find my money (I had lost it in my purse's pocket... fail) so Ani lent me some, because she's so nice. Then, we drove home. The End!
Wow, this was a long post. I'm surprised you read the whole thing, especially if you're reading this. Oh, and by the way, you just lost The Game. Have a nice day! --Particulary Good Finder Hufflepuff!!! 23:58, February 20, 2011 (UTC)
February 19th- Saturday
Yes, it's Sunday when I'm writing this. Because I can. :)
My friend Jeanette comes over. We decide to work on our english project. We made a commercial about Allstate, like the mayhem commercials. I'm a giant who crushes a car (a little toy car) and they don't have Allstate, so they're not covered for it. Yeah, we're doing this weird media-literacy unit in English. We watched really old cigarette commercials in class. One advertised giving you cool breath. Kinda forgets to mention that you're breathing in freaking smoke??????? Um, nice job.
Then me and Jeanette watched AVPM, because that's what friends do. Redvines!!!!!! Ok, maybe just me and my friends. :P
February 20th- Sunday
Ok, got up, went to church. A normal Sunday morning. Then, I had to work on my stupid CCD project. Um, making a scrapbook about CCD? Yes, I'm sure that all the guys around here have scrap-booking supplies. And as we were working on it, I got a horrible stomachache. I didn't eat anything weird. But it hurt like crazy. Cramps, pains, everything. My mom gave me some pain medicine, and I kinda collapse into bed. Then, after about an hour of lying there in pain, I somehow fell asleep. I slept for about 2 and a half hours, so I woke up at about 5:30ish. I felt so much better, and starving. Well, sleeping burns more calories than watching TV, plus I hadn't eaten anything since before 11:00, not even a snack. So I ate dinner, and yeah, it became an ordinary day. I did random stuff on the internet, drew a homemade Dark Mark, and other things. Then things went a bit downhill
Oh. My. Giraffe.
Shiney and I share 2 computers, for a strange reason. We switch off every other day, and it's confusing with school work because which computer saved what homework. But anyway, I was on the older laptop today and Shiney was on the new one. Then, she comes up to me and says "Was this like this yesterday?" and shows me weird pixelly, multicolored thin streaks on it. I don't know what they were, but they weren't on it when I was using it yesterday. Then she accuses me of breaking it, dropping it, and she's being kinda a jerk. But the brightness and sound adjustments aren't working like they're supposed to now.
So our not-at-all-old computer might be broken.
Shiney and I are going to get murdered. For real. So Misty, remember that you and all our friends are in my will for $20 dollars. And my parakeet? Yeah, Tweeter gets $100. --Particulary Good Finder Hufflepuff!!! 05:24, February 21, 2011 (UTC)
Week in Review- 12th-19th
My very first Week in review. I'm not sure how it's going to be set up exactly. So let's wing it!
World News- Egypt
Ok, so everyone knows how Egypt got rid of their government in 18 days of protests. Pretty awesome. And right after they got rid of the Mubarak guy, everyone's excited. They get to make reforms, take part in government, treat everyone equal, all these wonderful things.
But the military's now in charge. And everyone's now a bit skeptical. Like, "Hmmm, military in charge? That hasn't worked out really great for other countries." As in, the military is the armed people, so they take over and no one says anything. I'm not saying that's gonna happen in Egypt, but it's all confusing now.
I don't know why I'm talking about world news. I'm a 12 year old in 7th grade. I don't even understand a ton of world issues. But then again, a lot of people don't. People are a confusing, annoying species. Why are we the dominate species, not a nicer one instead? Just 'cause we have thumbs, I guess.
But I've always been curious about the world. When I was little, I asked about China a lot. Just because it was far away, and much, much different. But then again, I was about 3. Yet as I grew older, I wanted to learn more and talk about all the crap that's taking place in the world. My older, popular sister makes fun of me, constantly reading and trying to find out about the world. Yes, she's smart, in honors classes and gets good grades, but she never reads. Like, maybe a book for a report or something. Nothing much. But I like to learn, because apparently I'm a huge nerd. But proud, just not in front of people my age. I've read the New York Times since I was like, 9. My parents and I fight over it. Good thing they make more than one section :). Am I bragging? I hope not.
Ok, so my take on Egypt has turned into a rant about how I want to find out more about the world. I should probably travel. But by the time we're adults, the TSA will have to take X-rays to make sure you didn't swallow a bomb to blow up a plane. They spend all this money to do stupid security checks. Yes, I'd rather go through screening than be blown apart by terrorists, But it's annoying. And that just got really off topic... it's a bad habit of mine, as you can tell.
My News- Stupid Weather
The weather around me is so stupid. Ok, like I mentioned before, it got really, really warm about this week after a terrible winter full of storms that made everyone cold and in a bad mood. SO many snow days- I think 7. They took away long weekends and Spring Break. So that sucked. But then it became so warm, at one point about 60 degrees! People wore shorts and short sleeves and it was wonderful. Then, of course Mother Nature realizes "Hey, it's still winter. Whoops, didn't mean for it to be warm yet. Sorry about that." It really annoys me. Yes, this winter is terrible. Freezing cold, 3 feet of snow, and winds that knocked a huge tree branch down in the yard. But the warmth was a blessing and a curse. It made us so hopeful for a warm spring, so happy, and yet it was only a tease in this dreadful winter. It makes me wanna scream. I'm sick of this winter. Anyone else ready for spring?
Well aren't they all like "Hey, you're all terrorists, so let's search you for bombs and stuff." Um, yeah, let's use money for that instead of fixing the country!! :D --Particulary Good Finder Hufflepuff!!! 15:45, February 21, 2011 (UTC)
LOL, I have NO idea what's going on in the world. Oops, I'm ignorant. Damnit! Oh, but I know another Aussie soldier was killed in Afghanistan, which sucks, and an abalone diver off Qld was eaten by a Great White. They haven't found his remains yet either. Local news... my sister saw Alice in Wonderland girl on her bus to work, so I wanna catch the bus with her next week. :D It's supposed to be almost autumn, but it's pretending it's summer, and I saw a Wedgie on the Pinnacle on Monday, and another one yesterday circling Mt Painter. Huzzhah! Beyond the Night Teyla Emmagan 23:56, February 26, 2011 (UTC)
