HALO came from the ashes of what once was a society of rogues. When this society collapsed, it left the whole populations of the rogues in turmoil and suffering. Their entire life is just fighting each other, fighting nature, fighting everything. They know nothing else.
But every year, there is the once in a lifetime oppurtunity to join HALO. To be accepted into its close-knit community, an apparent paradise. To be trained by the elite of the elite, to live a real life without fighting for the sight of a new morning. To Elm, a young rogue, HALO is perfection. It's everything she's dreamed of.
Yet there is a question neither she nor any of her kind have thought of answering.
