The second in my new poetry series, [[::Category:Sisters in the Stars|Sisters in the Stars.]][]

Who is our father?

Will we never know?

The questions their mother could not answer,

Would not,

Dared not,

For she had broken a code,

An action for which she would be forever shamed.

Then came the truth,

The warrior that brought chaos to their lives,

Who demanded them,

Forced mother and daughters apart,

Determind to keep them for his own.

The moor became a home,

Yet both longed to hear,

The roar of the waves,

The swish of the reeds,

But most of all,

Their mother's voice.

Then in the dark of night,

Came the warriors,

Who swept them from the nursery,

Like a ferocious river.

They were taken back home,

To the place for which they had longed,

A part of their hearts, though,

Would always smell like heather,

And taste like rabbit.

They fought through the scorn,

Both warriors through and through,

One was named for the Wind

The other for the River.

A twisted jaw did not mar the love,

Which sprang from the willow,

The happiness was in the shadow of a maple,

Who whisked it away,

Death following their pawsteps,

Taking the kits,

And finally,

Willowbreeze herself.

The deep love between two sisters,

Was viciously wrenched away.

Graypool had known sorrow,

She had lived with it,

Fed on it,

Breathed it in.

It came in the shape of two kits,

Who barely took a first breath,

It came in the shape of a mate,

Who did not care.

It came in the shape of her sister,

Who left on the wind.

But her heart was saved,

By two kits from across the river.

Now both sister are reunited,

In the stars.

They watch their kits,

They guide their Clan,

For their service is not done,

And will never be,

For these true warriors,

Will never leave their Clan.
