"Come one, Beechpaw! Get up, you're better than this!" Rootsnap growled. He was having a training session with Beechpaw, his apprentice, and Swiftpaw, Harefire's apprentice. And I know what you are thinking, is Rootsnap Rootpaw? And, yes, just to clear it up, in fact he is. Rootpaw, after lashing out at Meadowpaw, ran into the forest. There, he had time to think about what he did. He later went back to FlightClan, training as a warrior once again.
"Come one, Beechpaw! Get up, you're better than this!" Rootsnap growled.

Beside him, Harefire was grinning. "Good job, Swiftpaw! Show no mercy!" Swiftpaw leaned down to whisper in Beechpaw's ear. Whatever he said, Beechpaw's eyes lit up in fury and she exploded in rage. Turning on Swiftpaw, she pinned him down in turn.

"Yes, Beechpaw! Use that rage!" Rootsnap praised his apprentice, then he added, "But don't let him take an advantage of it!"

History Of the Clans

There used to be four clans: ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and ShadowClan. Eventually, a series of cruel leader and rogue influencers turned ShadowClan into FlightClan. FlightClan destroyed WindClan and RiverClan, but a group of former RiverClan warriors got together and reformed the Clan, renaming it StreamClan. But, not so long ago, a great evil called The Raven tried to take over the clans, killing a whole lot of them. They've had time to clean up, but in all the turmoil, FlightClan, with their new leader Eaglestar, pronounces war on ThunderClan. Will the clans survive, or break apart in this hard time?

Prologue - Sparrowpaw

Warm sunlight dappled Sparrowpaw's pelt as she padded silently through the forest, every tree and single fluttering leaf tinted with a warm yellow as the golden hour spread its elegance across StarClan's hunting grounds. Sparrowpaw didn't so much as stir a dust mote as she slipped between the trees, her paws not making a sound, her eyes fixed on her destination straight ahead. A small brown tabby tom-kit was tumbling in a sunlit clearing just a few fox-lengths before her, laughing while trying vainly to snag his tail in his own paws.

"Clawkit!" Sparrowpaw called, hurrying toward him and feeling the sore muscles on her face stretch into a grin. She hadn't ever smiled so much in her life before coming to StarClan. A quick series of images flashed through her mind, and she tried to shove them out. Claws. Blood. Eaglepaw. Deathberries.

StarClan cats do not dwell on their deaths, a wise spirit had once advised her. It will only bring you pain, and pain has no place in our world.

Silverwing. She was gone now, lost and faded.

"Sparrowpaw!" Clawkit squeaked, looking up from his game to meet her grass-green eyes, his own yellow ones sparkling with glee. Yellow. Not like his. Not amber, not like Eaglepaw's.

"Where are your playmates?" Sparrowpaw asked, purring as her little brother scampered over and huddled beneath her belly fur.

(wip I'll continue later)

Chapter One - Drizzlepaw

Blood every where, Drizzlepaw ran through the shadowy forest towards the light, his fur fluffed up in terror. He saw a starry outline standing where the light started, waiting for him. Colefur! He sped up and cross the border to Starclan's territory happily, the Dark Forest behind him. Drizzlepaw flinched at the sight of Colefur, remembering the dark warrior's death. He looked at Drizzlepaw angrily, but it was covered up with relief. "Drizzlepaw! What were you doing there!" He hissed and they padded deeper into Starclan territory.

"I'm sorry...I just... woke up there..." He murmured, knowing that Colefur had called him, but he had somehow ended up in the Dark Forest.

Colefur nodded in understanding, then his emerald-green eyes grew dark, "I summoned you for a reason. A new propchey has arrived..." Drizzledpaw shivered, but listened quietly to the warrior.

"The trusted one is gone,

The path laid out is blood.

Unless the five arise,

Everything shall be gone.

Two of Thunder, and Flight,

But the one remains is not to be in sight."

He started to fade away, and darkness flooded over Drizzlepaw. "Wait!" He cried out desperatley. Path laid out is blood? Gone? The one remains is not seen? Endless questions shot through him, and he crouched in horror as he saw a cat laying dead on the black ground in front of him, surrounded by a pool of blood. Drizzlepaw cautiously crept closer and looked at the cat's face. It was Wavecrash. Wavecrash. His mother. 'The trusted one is gone...' Wavecrash was the most trusted and closest cat to Drizzlepaw. Panic shot there him and he couldn't bear it. He raced about and slipped into a void.

Drizzlepaw woke to the cranky voice of his mentor, Galewhisper. "Stop thrashing! I can't get any sleep anymore. If you have nothing else to do go gather some borage, we're low and Cloudroll has fe..." His voice trailed off as he fell back to sleep. I wouldn't be able to sleep anyway. Drizzlepaw got up, shaking bits of sand out of his pelt, for he had rolled onto the ground in his sleep.

He happily raced along the river, happily closing his eyes. Drizzlepaw yelped as he crashed into something soft. He heard a soft growl of surprise under him and he crushed the other cat. Drizzlepaw was kicked away by the black and red tom he ran into. He reconized this cat. "Emberpaw? What are you doing in Streamclan's territory?" He took a step back as Emberpaw snarled and bristled fiercely.

"Me? This is Flightclan's territory! And you just trespassed." He leapt at Drizzlepaw, pinning him. He thrashed and tried to wriggle free but failed. Drizzlepaw looked up, where one Starclan warrior remained in the brightening sky. Colefur. The star flashed and he felt a surge of strength and pushed him off.

"Emberpaw wait! I have something to say." The black tom stopped for a moment, listening. "There's a new prophecy...And your a part of it..." Drizzlepaw repeated the prophecy and while he was fazed, the blueish tom slid away back into his own territory, feeling an odd rush of affection for Emberpaw.

Chapter Two - Flarekit

Flarekit shook her ombre fur, and tumbled over her mother, Cardinalfur, to squash Brightkit, her tiny brother mewled and Cardinalfur pulled Flarekit away with her firm but gentle tail. "Shush my precious, it was just Flarekit." She cooed, licking the tom-kit. Flarekit rolled her yellow eyes in annoyance, it was obvious Brightkit was her favorite.

She pawed Blazekit and Burnkit awake, her eyes shining in the black den. "Wake up!" She squeaked, and grabbed Blazekit's golden fur, in attempt to drag her outside.

"Nooooooo..." Her littermate pawed the air and struggled loose and scrambled back into the warmth of their mother's belly. Flarekit hissed and pounced on Burnkit, who was awake in an instant and pawed her away playfully. See? This why she's my favorite.

"Cardinalfur, can we go out?" Burnkit asked their mother, touching noses with her as she nodded.

The two sisters tumbled outside, pawing eachother playfully. "Oh! How 'bout we play hide-and-seek? You go hide!" Burnkit nudged her littermate away and scurried to the nursery to count.

Flarekit looked around camp, all her littermates had explored the camp except Brightkit, who was too paranoid to even leave Cardinalfur's side. An idea lit up in Flarekit's tiny head, and she ran to the elders' den. They'll hide me.

As she entered the den, she trotted happily to Cloudedface, her favorite elder. "Hi!" The grey elder smiled and flicked her tail at Yellowcloud, who was snoring in her nest, "She says hi too." Weaseltail muttered a moody 'hello' and started grooming himself.

"Hiya! Can you hide me? BurnkitandIareplayinghideandseekandIneedtohidebutI'mrunningoutoftime!" Flarekit mewed hurridley and tucked behind the grey elder, into the bracken, nearly invisible and she nodded.

"Hewo! Have you guys seen Flarekit?" She heard Burnkit's mew.

"Nope, sorry little one." Cloudedface responded. Flarekit strained her ears in panic, noticing the voices were fading. She felt a thorn dig into her side and closed her eyes in pain. Smelling blood, she heard a ghostly voice echo the prophcey in her head.

..:~:..

Flarekit opened her eyes, and shivered. She was in Grayleaf's den, lying on a mossy bed. "Flarekit? Are you awake?" She heard the medicine cat's soothing voice and nodded as she came over. The grey she-cat checked her pad for fever, renewed her cobwebs (which were plastered on her side where the thorn punctured her). "What happened?"

Flarekit shook her head, somehow knowing she couldn't tell anyone about the prophcey. At least not yet. "I-I don't know...I-I just f-felt a th-thorn and my hearing f-faded..." She stuttered, telling the cat a part-truth.

Grayleaf's eyes narrowed in concern. She checked the kit's ears and shook her head. "I've found nothing wrong. Except that puncture, of course. It was pretty deep, your lucky Cloudedface smelled blood when she did...If not..." She didn't finish, her green gaze flashing with the thoughts of what could've happened. "Well, go back to the nursery and take it easy. Come back tomorrow so I can check you." The she-kit nodded and padded out.

Half-way to the nursery, Flarekit heard the border patrol returning, and stopped aruptly as her father came up to her, purring. "Flarekit! Your awake at last! Are you alright?" Lightstep licked her head worriedly.

She shook him away, glaring indignantly, "Yes, Lightstep. I'm fi-" Her jaws parted in a huge yawn.

Lightstep let out a mrrow of laughter. "You must be tired. Go on, I'll bring you, your littermate, and mother some fresh-kill later." And he padded off.

Flarekit glanced around camp, I have to tell someone... The she-kit took a deep breath, closing her eyes. I'll be an apprentice soon...I'll tell Burnkit then. She decided. She looked at the warriors' den, and saw two red eyes staring back.

Chapter Three - Lightwash

Lightwash yawned, and blinked his eyes against the morning light. The FlightClan camp was starting to come to life. Lightwash smiled. FlightClan was by far the best Clan. They had had a run of bad luck, but overall, Lightwash wouldn’t trade it for anything.

He turned to his brother, Jaywind. Jaywind had been grumpy ever since his apprentice, Meadowpaw, has run away to ThunderClan.

“You up?” He asked. Jaywind grumbled in reply. It sounded like ‘stupid Meadowpaw’. “Are you still grumbling about Meadowpaw? She returned to her birth Clan, that’s all. It wasn’t that she didn’t like you.”

“She thought I was a bad mentor.” He grumbled.

“Well, don’t get your tail in a twist. I’m gonna see if Hawkbreeze needs me to patrol or something.”

“You do that.” Jaywind replied, still curled up. Lightwash shrugged, and padded out, welcoming the sunshine in his pelt. He saw the warriors eating some early morning fresh-kill, and some others going out the the morning patrol.

He padded over to Hawkbreeze. They had known each other since they were kits, and Lightwash could immediately see something was wrong.

“What’s up?” He asked.

“Nothing.” Hawkbreeze dismissed his tail twitching.

“Don’t give me that. What’s wrong?” Lightwash demanded.

Hawkbreeze frowned, as if debating whether to tell or not. Lightwash raised his eyebrows, and Hawkbreeze sighed. “It’s Emberpaw.” He confided. “He’s been gone since I sent him out at dawn. I told him to be back quickly, but with all the cats waking up, I have to stay to organize stuff, so I can’t look for him!”

Lightwash snorted. “That’s stupid. You’re deputy. You can do anything you darn want to. Here, from friend to friend, I will look for him.”

Hawkbreeze blinked gratefully. “Thanks, Lightwash.” Lightwash smiled, and padded out of camp. He bumped into Rowanheart, who was bringing back some fresh-kill.

“Hey, have you seen Emberpaw?” Lightwash asked.

“Nope. Why? He run away?” Rowanheart asked.

“Heck if I know. I’m just looking for him.” Lightwash continued onward, sniffing for any sign of Emberpaw. Finally, he caught the apprentice’s trail. He followed it as it wove through the territory, toward…StreamClan? That’s weird. Lightwash thought.

He continued tracking, following the train until he was met with another scent. A StreamClan cat. Oh boy. What’s going on here?

But the scent was getting stronger. Finally, Lightwash saw black fur through the bushes ahead. He slept into a crouch, and slunk forward. He found Emberpaw staring into the StreamClan…well…stream.

“Emberpaw! What are you doing here?” Lightwash asked. “Hawkbreeze is looking for you!”

Emberpaw turned to him, his eyes wide with confusion, and many other things Lightwash couldn’t decipher.

“Lightwash! Oh- I’m sorry! It’s just…I was chasing off an intruder! Well, an accidental intuder- he's gone I gave him a rough nipping! And then he told me the prophecy, and I didn’t know what to think, and next thing I know, I’m just standing here, and I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to get lost in thought!” Emberpaw seemed out of character, not acting like his usual determined, excited, outgoing self.

“Wow.” Lightwash blinked. “How about you take it from the top?”

.......

Lightwash stood in Eaglestar’s den with Emberpaw, and Hawkbreeze.

“Tell me again.” Eaglestar paced. “What did the prophecy say?”

Emberpaw looked uncomfortable. “I, uh, think it went like this:

The trusted one is gone,

The path laid out is blood.

Unless the five arise,

Everything shall be gone.

Two of Thunder, and Flight,

But the one remains is not to be in sight.”

Ealgestar growled in frustration. “You three are not to tell anyone!” He commanded. “All right? This must be a secret.”

The three cats nodded.

But Lightwash was thinking about the prophecy.

Last time we had one, we all almost died…

Chapter Four - Emberpaw

Emberpaw shifted in his nest, and stood stifly, unable to sleep he entered the clearing to find it deserted. Dawn was still a few hours away and no one was up except Snakeleaf, who was guarding the entrance of camp. He felt a raw rush of guilt flow through him. I shouldn't have told Lightwash...I need to talk to Drizzlepaw. Emberpaw determinly strode out of camp, nodded in greeting to Snakeleaf. "Out for a stroll?" The tom mocked him, he never was quite friendly to him, but Emberpaw shook his head in annoyance.

"No, Snakeleaf, I'm going hunting, now don't stick your tail where it doesn't belong!" He retorted, and padded away indignantly.

As soon as he was out of sight, he sprinted through the forest, and when he reach the border with Streamclan, he rolled in their scent-markers, to cover up his own scent.

Emberpaw crept through the meadow that was Streamclan's territory, leaping over brooks and streams, but he followed the river that lead to their camp. He stopped abruptly, opening his mouth to draw in the scents. Drizzlepaw was here earlier. Emberpaw broke off from the river and followed Drizzlepaw's scent trail and ducked in the tall grass as he saw him, gathering some sort of herbs. What's he doing out at this time? Not wanting to scare him, Emberpaw rustled the bush, getting Drizzlepaw's attention. He slid out from under the bush and he saw the greyish tom's tensed muscles relax at the sight of the black tom.

"Drizzlepaw, we need to talk. ImayhavetoldLightwashabouttheprophecyTHENImayhavealsotoldEaglestarandHawkbreezeaboutitandsoonEVERYONEWILLKNOW!" Emberpaw stood there panting, his fur fluffed out in panic.

Drizzlepaw didn't do anything for a moment, and just stood thinking. Then, he took a step forward, lifted his tail, hesitated, then let it rest on Emberpaw's shoulder, "Don't worry. We'll somehow figure this out. You must get back to your own territory though...Good-bye Emberpaw." Drizzlepaw gave Emerpaw a quick, reasurring lick on the cheek, gathered his herbs, and trotted away.

..:~:..

When Emberpaw returned to camp the sun had started to rise, and he saw Hawkbreeze poking his head into the apprentices' den, obviously looking for him. He padded up to his mentor and mewed a greeting. "Good morning, Hawkbreeze." He tried to sound cheerful but a lot was on his mind.

Hawkbreeze raised an eyebrow, his dark blue gaze clouding with concern. "Well..." He meowed slowly, "I spoke with Eaglestar last night, we both agree your ready to become a warrior." WHAT!?! Excitment shot through Emberpaw and gave a little leap of joy, and his mentor laughed. "Clean up, it'll be soon."

..:~:..

"...Emberblaze. Starclan honors your loyalty and couarge and we welcome as a full member of Flightclan." Eaglestar rested his muzzle on the tom's head, and he gave his leader's shoulder a respectful lick. Emberblaze purred as the clan cheered his name, but a pang of loneliness hit his heart. I wish Drizzlepaw were here...

He slid out of camp as soon as he could, sprinting excitedly toward Streamclan's territory. Emberblaze leapt easily over the stream that formed the border. He soon caught Drizzlepaw's scent and padded toward it. Mouse-dung! He silently cursed to see Drizzlepaw was with his mentor, Galewhisper. Sadly, Emberblaze sunk back into his own territory.

Chapter Five - Jax

Jax sighed as he looked at his brother, Clover, who was excitedly playing with a piece of moss.

I'm going to have to tell him soon... He thought, sighing as he bit into his scrawny mouse. "Clover!" He shouted. "I brought some food!"

(WIP)

Chapter Six - Meadowfall

Dark pelts surrounded Meadowpaw, bloody and torn. One or another pounced on the nearest pelt, while the rest ran or fell on the ground. Beside her was a brown tabby pelt, Eaglepaw, and in front of her was... The Raven. The cat who started all this pain.

The one who killed the ones she loved.

And now, her and Eaglepaw were called to kill this evil, to save the clans. Claws slashed and painful yowls filled the clearing as Eaglepaw and Meadowpaw pushed the Raven back. But, it wasn't enough. The Raven pushed over Meadowpaw and Eaglepaw, leaving them winded on the ground.

Pain flashed like fire. Everything a blur. The Raven was about to land the killing blow on Meadowpaw when a brown blob flashed in front of her. Blood dripped.

Blood.

Everything broke when Meadowpaw saw Rowanpaw, limp and cold, on the ground. The Raven, though, had a stick in her throat, one jammed by the brown apprentice as he flashed by.

But he took her hit. Her hit.

"No!" Meadowpaw yowled. Everything faded, leaving her in the Warrior's den.

Meadowfall sighed, tears appearing on the side of her eyes. Rowanpaw... I'm so sorry. SHe closed her eyes, trying to fall to sleep again. But she couldn't. She couldn't stop the tears that where coming.

"Meadowfall?" A voice sounded, "Did you dream again?"

Meadowfall turned to Blossomedfur and nodded, tears coming from her eyes. The cream she-cat scooted closer, and started to groom Meadowfall's ruffled fur. Blossomedfur was a friend. One of the only ones in the clan who really trust her after what she had done. All the other cats they, well, still thought as Meadowfall as an outsider. This is all because how she disapeared for many moons, and came back as a FlightClan apprentice who killed one of ThunderClan's most strongest warriors, Tigersnap.

But, out of all the cats in the clan, no one was worse than Pinebark. She was the mother and mate of Rowanpaw and Tigersnap. Pinebark claims Meadowfall will kill all of them one day, as she did her mate Tigersnap. She also blames Meadowfall or Rowanpaw's death, saying that it was her hit that he took, and she could of took it and died, not her son. Out of the corner of Meadowfall's eye, Pinebark is always there. Watching. Waiting for the right moment to get her in trouble.

Blossomedfur's words knocked her out of her thoughts, saying, "Who was it this time?"

"Rowanpaw..." Meadowfall started to cry again as she remembered the sweet, brown tom. But, when Meadowfall felt a small kick in her side from Blossomedfur's belly, she remembered also that Blossomedfur was going to go to the nursery soon, because she was expecting kits. Meadowfall looked at the cream-coated she-cat, blue eyes matching pink eyes, "I don't want you to go... Done leave... please."

Blossomedfur sighed as she said, "We've been over this. I can't not go to the nursery. All queen go there." And with one final lick on Meadowfall's head, Blossomedfur curled up and went back to sleep.

But Meadowfall couldn't. Too many things were on her mind, like; when will she see Rowanpaw again? Will Pinebark ever stop following her? Will the clan trust her again?

It took a while, but over time she fell into a sleep haunted by dreams. But, one of them wasn't so bad. Meadowfall woke up in a snowy meadow, one she has not seen since she was an apprentice. Memories came flooding in as she thought of all the things that had happened here. Her playing with Wishsoul. Learning Wihsoul was her brother. Learning the prophecy of the Raven.

Meadowfall looked around for some sigh of life, but it was empty. No Wishsoul. "Hello?" She called, "Wishsoul?"

All of a sudden, the meadow faded and she was in a light, green forest. The smell of prey was everywhere, and movement never stopped from the bushes.

"Meadowfall." A voice rang through the clearing, a voice she had come to know.

Her heart skipped a beat as she turned around. Tears came from her eyes as she saw, right in front of her, Rowanpaw. She dashed over to him, touching forehead to forehead. They were reunited, and nothing felt better for those moments. Though, it felt like fire and ice when Meadowfall touched Rowanpaw, she couldn't bring herself to stop rubbing him with her head. "Rowanpaw! I missed you."

"So have I." The young tom looked at Meadowfall, "You have grown! You are almost too tall for me!" The young tom's eyes turned from playful of serious, "Look, Meadowfall. I-I was sent as a warning."

"A.. warning?" Meadowfall flicked her ear, "Why worry me at a time as great as this?"

Rowanpaw sigh and said looking down,

"In a time when no hope has come,

the meadow will search for a love,

but it will all become,

chaos for up above."

Meadowfall sighed, "Oh, another prophecy."

"No! Not a prophecy, a warning. Please, Meadowfall, do not do what this warning says."

"But, what does it mean?"

"That, you are to find out."

Then every faded as dawn light shown in, breaking the sleep of Warriors in the den.

I will find out what it means, Rowanpaw.

Chapter Eight - Blossomedfur

Blossomedfur woke up at some sniffling sounds. She lifted her head and drowsily shook her cream colored fur. "Meadowfall?" She was awake in an instant. She looked at her friend worriedly, the silver she-cat was crying. "Did you dream again?" When she nodded Blossomedfur scooted closer to her, nudging her nest towards the warrior's, and began to groom her shaken friend's fur. "Who was it this time?" She mewed between licks.

"Rowanpaw..." Meadowfall's eyes were glazed with sadness at the memory of her lost love. "I don't want you to go..." She looked up at Blossomedfur's pink eyes. "Don't leave...please..."

Blossomedfur sighed. "We've been over this. I can't not go to the nursery. All queens go there." She gave Meadowfall one last lick then curled back up in her own nest, purring, thinking of her kits, she fell asleep.

..:~:..

Pain rippled through Blossomedfur's belly, and she writhed in her moss nest, her claws tearing at the bracken. "Do something! Help her!" Stormbreeze's fur fluffed out in stress, he was pacing around his struggling mate.

Grayleaf was stressed to, for they had been in the nursery for the past day. "I'M DOING EVERYTHING I CAN! And for Starclan's sake, stop pacing! Get OUT!" The usually calm medicine cat was snarling, her eyes kept drooping with tiredness. The black tom backed out of the nursery, startled.

Blossomedfur let out a yowl on pain as her belly seemed to been tied up in knots. The pain disappreared for a second as the first kit plopped out onto the moss. She picked up her head to sniff it. "Is my kit okay?" She asked, watching as Grayleaf nipped the kitting sac and the kit was realised.

"Its...Its breathing." The medicine cat's green gaze was clouded with worry.

Blossomedfur opened her jaws to say something but the words came out as a hiss of pain. Another ripple convusled in her belly and another wet bundle slid into the moss. She let out a sigh of relief as the pain almost immediatley left her and she forgot about it as she looked fondly at her kits. "They're both toms!..." Graylead announced, and she nudged a black kit with red stripes, but the stripes, going down his back faded to orange. "He's barley breathing."

Blossomedfur was stabbed with panic and she nudged the kit. It let out a mewling sound. "Hollowkit." She mewed aloud. "His name is Hollowkit. That's his name. Yes. Because he looks like a hollow flame, burning brighter than the darkest night...He'll survive, won't you, my strong one?" She licked him lovingly and turned to the other kit. She looked up to notice Stormbreeze had been standing there. She gazed fondly at her mate and nodded.

Stormbreeze padded up to Blossomedfur and looked at the other kits, a smaller, light, cream orange one, with black tabby stripes. "Pumpkinkit?" He meowed, and the tom-kit mewed in response.

Chapter Nine - Hollowkit

Hollowkit poked his head out from his mother's soft belly. Trying not to wake Pumpkinkit, he scrambled out of the nursery and out into the cool camp outside. "Wow." The tom-kit whispered, wide-eyed as he gazed around camp.

The black tabby kit padded towards an elder bush, sniffing it, and walked easily under, he was small enough. He saw a grey she-cat with a lighter face in there, telling a story to his denmates: Flarekit, Burnkit, and Blazekit. Brightkit must still be hiding with Cardinalfur. Hollowkit padded up to the cats. "Ewo!" The tom smiled brightly, at the she-cat.

"Oh Starclan, thank you!" The grey cat stood and limped rapidly to Hollowkit.

Chapter Ten - Rootsnap

"Rorrww!" Swiftpaw landed on Beechpaw, holing her down.

Chapter Eleven - Thunderstrike

Thunderstrike padded around the camp lazily. There was no patrols assigned to him, so he could do what ever he wanted.

Oh Jumpspring my brother, why did you have to leave me? You promised we would age together and look back as elders! Why did you break your promise to me?

Thunderstrike thought miserably. His brother Jumpspring had died in the battle against The Raven. He had died alongside ThunderClan and other FlightClan warriors honorably. But Thunderstrike would have preferred that Jumpspring had hidden in the battle, and lived. Even though that would be cowardly, Thunderstrike would still have his brother.

Jumpspring was the last kin he had.

Thunderstrike's father, Sparkclaw had died from a monster.

His mother, Sorrelspring had died of greencough.

And Thunderstrike had no other litttermate except Jumpspring.

Thunderstrike had FlightClan, of course. But Thunderstrike wasn't exactly close to anyone. Jumpspring had been his best friend since they were born.

I'd rather take a nap since there's nothing to do around here.

Thunderstrike padded to the warriors' den to sleep. He plopped down on his nest and fell asleep quicker than he usually did.

Around Thunderstrike was a lush forest with a stream and lots of trees overhead. The ground below his paws were soft, unlike most parts of FlightClan territory. Thunderstrike lifted his head and sniffed his surroundings. This place was not familiar to him, and it smelled like it wasn't ThunderClan territory, so...

A realization hit him

I'm dreaming. I'm in StarClan. So does that mean-

Thunderstrike turned around to see a familiar orange pelt make way to him. "Jumpspring! I've missed you so much! Can I stay in StarClan, or-or ,maybe you can come back to FlightClan? I'm sure everyone would be glad to have you-"Jumpspring cut off his words, his face grave. "I have a prophecy for you."

"The trusted one is gone,

The path laid out is blood.

Unless the five arise,

Everything shall be gone.

Two of Thunder, and Flight,

But the one remains is not to be in sight.”

Jumpspring was rid of his old playfulness Thunderstrike had known. This was really serious.

"A prophecy? Last time we had a prophecy, everyone almost died! Surely the danger has passed?" Thunderstrike was practically begging Jumpspring to nod, to say that this new one would be less dangerous. Jumpspring shook his head.

Fox dung.

Thunderstrike sighed. "So am I part of this prophecy?" Jumpspring had an ominous look on face. "You'll get to know." And with that, the scene around him was fading, along with Jumpspring. "Jumpspring! Don't leave me! Can't I just stay in StarClan for a little bit longer? We-we could figure out the prophecy!" But it was pointless. Next thing he knew, he was awake in the warriors' den.

Thunderstrike dug his unsheathed claws into the dirt of the warriors' den, a new determination filling him.

If I help this prophecy, I'll be helping Jumpspring. I'll have a meaning. I'll have hope. I, Thunderstrike shall help this new prophecy, whatever it is!
