Prologue
"They are not meant to be together," a queen said sorrowfully. "Yet they are deceiving their fate."
"Yes, they are, Lightningshine," a tom replied gently. "And it's okay! For StarClan's sake, it's okay. They'll learn from their mistakes, my love."
Lightningshine looked up. "But their kits! What about their kits, Rainpool? They are innocent, I know that."
The tom pursed his lips. "They'll survive, Lightningshine. They are tougher than they look.
