This is a songfic called Amnesia by Katy.

OA: The Tubes

I loved the lyrics, but the song was not that good, in my opinion, maybe cos it was old, like from the 80s.

|Chapter One|

It seems we stood and talked

Like this before

Why can’t I remember

Did we share something more

---

I blink, clearing the smoke out of my eyes. Wait. There is no smoke.

What am I imagining?

"Cindernose!" A small black tom bounds forward. I instinctively turn around to see the cat he is calling to.

"That's you. Do you remember?" He walks up to me.

"No, I- I......" I trail off. I don't remember. Who is he, and.... who am I?

"I'm Littlenight. You're Cindernose. We live in RiverClan," he reminds me gently. Cindernose. Littlenight. RiverClan.

"Why can't I remember?" I bite my lip in confusion.

"The storm. There was a terrible storm. Lightning str-struck a tree. It started a- a fire. You- you inhaled too much smoke. Your memory- it's gone." His last word comes out as a whisper.

My eyes widen. Littlenight must notice my shock, because he gently runs his tail over my back. I look gratefully back at him.

"You forgot. We're mates." He crumples in sadness. This must be as hard for him as it is for me. Then he stands up.

My little trooper, I always call him. Wait! I had remembered! Just a little bit of information, yet it did so much.

"Little- what's your name?" I had forgotten.

"Littlenight," he replies sadly.

"I remembered. I always called you my little trooper." I smile shyly.

"You remembered? Anything else?" His eyes light up with curiosity.

"No, my memory's as clean as the river in leafbare. Nothing there but ice." I sigh.

"Do you want to talk to Cloudstar? Tell him what's happened?" Littlenight looks at me, concerned.

"Oh- okay." I pad out of the small den I'm in, the medicine den.

"I think I remember the territory too. Over there is the river, over there is the apprentices' den..." As we walk, I tell him what I remember, and he listens patiently, fixing my mistakes, the things I don't know.

Finally, we reach the leader's den. I poke my head inside.

"Cloudstar?" I see the dappled white tom, waiting there.
